Progress early September
The freshly laid lawn, not to be walked on for a couple of weeks! Tough when we were about to move in!!
Looking back over the lawn to the nearly finished house.
Painters madly trying to get as much done as they can before we move in. Turned out they did have to come back a few times after we were in. Not fun when it involves taking windows out of kids' bedrooms with no notice in order to stain the wood!! I was NOT impressed.
Finishing touches included Alan's own design - the Phallus, as we call it. It was kind of a surprise - he wouldn't tell us exactly what he was doing! We weren't sure about it at first but it's kinda grown on us. The first two panels, above the front door, are now covered with glass, the rest are purely decorative, kind of like a pergola....
